The X Subscription: Grok, Cursor and X Premium at $8

SpaceXSI, the company behind Grok, launched "The X Subscription" on October 12, 2026: one plan that bundles the Grok assistant, the Grok Bot agent, the Cursor AI code editor and X Premium. Prices run from $8 to $200 a month, and the company says it reaches every country over the next few days.

What we know

  • The launch: according to SpaceXSI's October 12 announcement, the plan is open to new customers from that day and will become available globally "over the next few days."
  • The tiers: SpaceXSI's pricing page lists Free ($0), Plus ($8 a month), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200). Premium gives 4 times Plus usage, Super 15 times and Ultra 50 times. Prices exclude taxes.
  • What Plus includes: Grok chat, voice, image generation and Build, Grok API access, Cursor, and X Premium features such as the checkmark and fewer ads.
  • What Premium adds: Grok Bot, the latest Grok models, image and video generation, code hosting and AI code reviews in Cursor, and ad-free scrolling on most X surfaces. SpaceXSI says it combines the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which previously cost $90 a month together.
  • One shared usage pool: Grok and Cursor draw from the same pool, which refreshes weekly. When it runs out, you buy top-ups or wait for the refresh.
  • Other companies' models in Cursor: per SpaceXSI, they are available only on Premium and above, billed separately at API list prices. Self-serve plans include no allowance for them.
  • Teams: per-seat prices match the individual tiers ($30, $100 or $200) and add single sign-on, admin controls and consolidated billing.
  • Existing subscribers: current SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium customers keep their plan and price, and can switch with a prorated refund. The previous plans are closed to new sign-ups. SpaceXSI says it will eventually move remaining customers, with no timeline yet and advance notice.

What changes and what doesn't

If you only use X, nothing: you can keep using it for free.

It changes things if you use Cursor to work on your website's code. New customers can no longer buy the old Cursor plans, and the usage included in the new tiers is for SpaceXSI's own models. If you code with other companies' models inside Cursor today, the $8 plan will not offer them, and from Premium up you pay for them separately based on use.

The limit is also measured differently: weekly, not monthly. A heavy day will not wipe out your month, but unused capacity does not roll over to the next week.

What you already pay for stays as it is: per SpaceXSI, your current plan continues until you choose to switch.

How to decide if it makes sense for you

  1. Check which models you use in Cursor. Cursor's settings show which models you work with. If they come from other companies, add that cost on top of any new plan.
  2. Check what you pay today. If you already have Cursor or SuperGrok, you do not need to move. Compare your current plan with Premium in your account's billing settings, where SpaceXSI says the switch offer will appear.
  3. Choose by usage, not price. SpaceXSI recommends Plus for X creators with light AI use and Premium for people starting to use AI daily. If you only want to try the Grok API for a chatbot on your site, Plus already includes it, drawing on the shared pool.
  4. Set a spending cap. If you use third-party models in Cursor, SpaceXSI lets you set spending limits. Do it before you let an agent run.
  5. Buy only from the official site. SpaceXSI says it authorizes no resellers and that accounts bought from third parties may be suspended.
